I met Paul Saltzman last year at BeatlesFest in Chicago. To see this exhibit and talking with Paul and hearing his stories about finding peace and The Beatles, it is a confirmation for me about why Mother Nature's Sun exists. The Beatles touched so many lives with their music and is STILL touching lives till this day. Their music is healing.... not just writing about love and peace and personal transformation, but in the way they sang, their personalities, their radiance.... Paul has allowed me to share with you a excerpt from his book and it sums up everything I believe about The Beatles and the importance of sound in healing. This is written by Donovan who also stayed in the ashram with The Beatles and had a close relationship with all 4.
"The Beatles have had a tremendously positive impact on the lives of millions of people worldwide for over 40 years. Such great, successful phenomenon in music, over the centuries, is just the tip of the iceberg. It is a tradition that the poet-musician is a healer. In the old tribes, and still today, they're called shamans. And so it is the work of the shaman to heal the inner world of the tribe and to heal the inner world through music and rhythm. Old antique and natural forms of healing consider the inner harmonies of the body linked to the 7 chakras---- spinning discs of energy from the lower spine to the top of the spine, each of which is linked to a glandular system in the body. When the chakras are spinning properly the whole system is well and healthy.

Donovan goes on to talk about the powerful influence of India on The Beatles. Many believe as I do that The Beatles were the ones to bring awareness to the Eastern traditions to America. Their experiences with meditation brought about incredible songs that sing of the Divine and Oneness but also about personal suffering. Everytime I hear a Beatles song, I really feel led to where they might have gone in their spiritual journey.
The Beatles are a significant part of my life and their meaning for me changes as I get older. Very grateful for my journey with Mother Nature's Sun and all of the wonderful people who have a deep passion for The Beatles as I do.
